Love Everyday Like Saturday!

After two glorious days of relaxing and recharging, every Monday feels more like a ‘mourn-day’. It’s the reason we all go through those dreaded Monday morning blues. Wouldn’t life be just dope if we could love everyday as much as a Saturday?! Here are some awesome ideas to make that happen!



1.Wake Up Early

Weekend mornings are the best because they’re quiet and relaxed unlike weekdays. Start your day early on weekdays so nothing feels rushed. Take your time to meditate, take a walk or go to gym before you hit the rushed pace at work.

2. Take Breaks Between Work

Our bodies and minds need break from staring endlessly into a screen. Every hour or so, you should take a 5 minute break, walk around, stretch yourself, finish work calls… This is probably the reason cigarette breaks were invented 😉 (Disclaimer: Smoking Kills – The writer in no way promotes or supports smoking)



3. Go On A Digital Detox

We have all become slaves to our phones. We hear a ‘ping’, and there is no way that you can resist picking the phone up and checking. Digital addiction is one of the leading causes for stress. So don’t go using that 5 minute break to stalk that ex on social media or check out that group with 275 unread messages.



4. Love Your Job!

If you love what you do, the weekend coming to an end will never affect you. Try making friends at work, indulge in post work socials like grabbing a drink or casual hangouts and you will never have to deal with ‘Monday blues’ again.



5. Make Everyday Into A Funday!

You don’t have to set aside all the fun stuff for the end of the week. This is one of the biggest reason for those withdrawal symptoms on a Monday. Spread exciting activities out through your weekdays as well… catch up with friends, watch a movie or try something new and interesting.  



6. Treat Yourself

With stresses of everyday life, there’s nothing better than indulging in some self love and relaxation. Once in awhile, treat yourself to either a massage, spa or even some ‘me time’. This will recharge your batteries and keep you going through the week.



7. Maintain A Work Life Balance

The best part about the weekend is that we get a break from everything work related. On weekdays as well, you should have some boundaries. Simple things like, avoiding your phone or emails before you get to work; putting your phone on silent while eating or keeping away from work post 8pm, all help to maintain work-life balance.



8. Do Some Light Work On Weekend

Don’t stick to a rule of not working on the weekends! If work is overwhelming, catch up on some light work over the weekend, that way your weekdays wouldn’t feel all that stressed.



9. Live In The Moment!

Not every minute of every hour of your day needs to be planned out, it’s good to have a general idea of what you’d like to do or get done. This will help you utilize your time and also pencil in some fun things. Plan a little less and learn to live in the moment!



10. Work Hard, Party Harder!

Hustling through a 9-5 job is tough and stressful. Don’t wait for a weekend to party and vent out your stress! The music, ambiance, dancing and socializing is all you need to forget about the worldly problems.

Weekends are terrible things to waste and so are weekdays. Instead of sulking about how crappy your job is or how stressed you are about work, try loving everyday like it’s a Saturday!
